European Association of Urology

The European Association of Urology is a leading professional organization dedicated to promoting urological science, education, and clinical practice in Europe and beyond. It plays a crucial role in advancing urological research, facilitating collaboration, and setting high standards for patient care in the field.

The brief

The EAU’s flagship event is its annual Congress, which brings over 9000 delegates together to discuss the latest developments in the field. In 2021 and 2022, the EAU asked Campus PR to provide media support for its Congress, which was being run virtually due to Covid restrictions. In 2023, the Congress was held in person for the first time since the pandemic, in Milan’s largest conference centre the Milano Congressi. The EAU asked Campus PR to provide support again.


Our response

We worked with the EAU to identify the most newsworthy research being presented at the conference from over 200 highly-rated abstracts. We interviewed the researchers and an EAU expert in that topic, to draw up eight press releases which were agreed by all relevant organisations.

We sent out the releases in advance under embargo to a carefully targeted list of UK and international journalists, following a schedule we’d designed to maximise the chances of coverage. With one team member in Milan, and others supporting from the UK, we were able to respond quickly to media enquiries, providing abstracts and setting up interviews with the researchers.

The results

We achieved over 2400 media mentions of research presented at the Congress in Milan, which equates to three billion impressions (opportunities to view). The research was covered in more than 25 tier one media, in the UK and USA predominantly, but also in Canada, France and India as well as high quality specialist medical outlets.


Wider coverage was gained in regional and specialist media across the USA, the UK and internationally due to pick up by PA and Associated Press. Coverage began on the Thursday before the event and continued into the following weeks.
